Adult Choirs

Bryn Mawr Presyterian Church currently offers three different adult choirs: Sanctuary Choir, Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers, and Singing for Life.

Sanctuary Choir

Comprised of about 85 singers, the Sanctuary Choir sings most Sunday mornings, from the beginning of September through mid-June. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Sanctuary Choir sings more than 40 services each season, in addition to two major concerts with orchestral accompaniment per year. Seasoned travelers, the choir has toured extensively throughout the world, sharing music and mission with the places they visit. The Sanctuary Choir is directed by Jeffrey Brillhart. Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers

Founded by Jeffrey Brillhart in January 1990, the Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers is a group drawn from the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir and community at large. Since its debut in March 1990, the choir has been heard in performances of Bach cantatas and motets, a cappella music of all periods, and contemporary American, French, British, and German music. Directed by Jeffrey Brillhart, the Chamber Singers rehearse on selected Thursday evenings, 9:00-9:45 p.m., for several performances each season. Singing for Life

Singing for Life is BMPC’s choir for older adults (55+). A typical rehearsal begins with stretching, intensive breathing exercises, and vocalizing. The rehearsal continues with the learning of a broad array of sacred and secular repertoire. Director of Music and Fine Arts, Jeffrey Brillhart, leads this group in rehearsal on Thursday mornings from 9:30-10:45 a.m., and is assisted by Suzanne DuPlantis. You do not have to be a member of BMPC to participate. There is a modest $75 fee to participate (scholarships are available).
