Please plan to join us as we celebrate the ministry of Jacqui Van Vliet at a reception in her honor on Sunday, May 4, after the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Jacqui’s three years as Supply Pastor have been a blessing to this church and community, as she has prepared us for the call of an installed pastor. We wish her all the best in her next pastoral call.
The Associate Pastor Nominating Committee is in a season of discernment among a select group of outstanding candidates. We hope to be able to share with you the name of a candidate in the near future. In the meantime, please keep this group and the people they have interviewed in your prayers.
Until our new pastor arrives, Children and Family Ministry will have pastoral oversight by Nicole Duran. If you have a pastoral concern, please call Nicole at ext. 8818. Katherine Mealor, Administrative Assistant to C&FM, will move to full-time work for a three week period before and during Vacation Bible Camp. We are also very pleased to welcome to the BMPC staff, Rebecca Kellich, our new Sunday Supervisor/Childcare Coordinator. Rebecca, who is a Doctoral Candidate in Educational Leadership at Temple University, is a Certified School Counselor and has years of experience at the ESF [Education-Sports-Fun] Summer Camp at The Haverford School. She is an active member of her Parish and proud mom of a four-month-old son. In addition to coordinating childcare, she will be a welcoming presence on Sunday mornings in the Education Building, providing support to our Sunday school teachers.
Vacation Bible Camp is scheduled for Monday through Friday, June 23–27, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon. Our theme this year, Wade in the Water, will provide ample opportunities for Bible stories, music, crafts and games. For detailed information about the camp, refer to our website.
Regardless of when our next installed Associate Pastor arrives, the mission and ministry of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, as lived out in Children and Family Ministry, continues. We have a joyful work to do! Our children must be nurtured, and they deserve to have high-quality, age-appropriate care that reflects the good news of God's love. When you are asked to volunteer, prayerfully consider this an opportunity to knit together the love of God and your own love for your children. BMPC needs each of its members to share in ministry, thus preparing the community to welcome the vision and new experiences of our next Associate Pastor.
