BMPC Youth Ministry seeks to be an inclusive youth faith community that connects, engages, and equips youth to discover and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The first goal of our ministry is to be inclusive, to be a space where all youth know they are welcome to come as they are — imperfect, stressed, exhausted, whatever. There's no need to be perfect. We hope our youth know that God loves them, whether they get straight A's or if they are failing their classes. God's love is ever-present to them, whether they are varsity players or they didn't make the team. God loves them, no matter what.
We seek to be a space for creating connections. Our ministry focuses on building webs of relationships around our youth through Sunday School teachers, Confirmation mentors, prayer partners, and more. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you're looking for a way to support our youth. We're always looking for more adults to be involved in the lives of our teenagers!
We are always trying to engage our youth in creative ways. Through weekly programming on Sunday mornings and on Wednesdays, and also through special events – service, fun, and otherwise – we provide various footholds for youth to climb into Youth Ministry in ways that work for them.
Through all our programming we seek to form our youth into disciples of Christ. Through relationships with one another and the church community, we hope they come to know God's love and calling for their lives. We hope our youth realize their gifts, discerning the ways that they too can serve in the church and the world, bringing the world ever closer to the kingdom of God through their own discovery and living out of the Gospel.
This Sunday is Youth Kickoff – when we invite all parents and youth to come to the gym at 10:00 a.m. to learn about the year's offerings in Youth Ministry. I can't wait to see how God moves in our Youth Ministry this year as we continue to seek these goals together.
