Welcome

Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast & Goodbye to Jack Liskey!

In two weeks we celebrate the return of a beloved Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church tradition – the Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast! Due to the pandemic, we have canceled the event the past two years, but it's finally time for the return of this delightful Youth Ministry-hosted event.

From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, all are invited to come and enjoy unlimited pancakes. Proceeds from this event support our Youth Ministry. The cost is $5 per person and $20 a family. It's a great way to get folks out of the house and provides food that cooks at home won't have to prepare!

“The pancake breakfast is a highlight for our family because it brings back people of all ages. It’s a joy to see three and sometimes four generations of family gathering!”
– The Rev. Frank Pottorff

If you're looking for a great family activity on Thanksgiving Day, please consider coming to the Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast in Congregational Hall! All are welcome!

This week also marks the end of a short but fantastic era – Jack Liskey, our youth director, will leave us next Sunday. We're so grateful for his ministry and will miss him after he returns to Indiana to be with his family and fiancé. I asked Jack about his time at BMPC, and this is what he said:

While I've only been here 16 months, my experiences with all of you have been crucial in helping me develop as a person and follower of Jesus. I cannot thank you all enough. BMPC is more than the building, history or staff. It's the connected people who make up the church body, joining together and showing God's love. Throughout my time here I have experienced BMPC as a faithful vehicle for connection. Whether it was a Zoom meeting for the middle school, meeting up at the park to play basketball, or the gatherings after worship to discuss the week ahead, I felt connected with this community. Thank you to everyone at BMPC who welcomed me and gave me a beautiful example of what it means to be a part of a loving church family.

This coming Sunday the Youth Ministry is hosting a Goodbye Jack Party from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the gym. All youth, families and volunteers are invited to come and celebrate his good work. And while we’ll miss Jack we’re excited to see who God brings us to walk alongside our youth!
