Sanctuary Choir

san.-choir

Comprised of about 60 singers, the Sanctuary Choir sings most Sunday mornings from the beginning of September through mid-June. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Sanctuary Choir sings more than 40 services each season, in addition to two major concerts with orchestral accompaniment per year. Seasoned travelers, the choir has toured extensively throughout the world, sharing music and mission with the places they visit. Jeffrey Brillhart directs the Sanctuary Choir.

Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers

chamber-singers-2

Singers Founded by Jeffrey Brillhart in January 1990, the Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers is a group drawn from the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir. Since its debut in March 1990, the choir has been heard in performances of Bach cantatas and motets, a cappella music of all periods, and contemporary American, French, British, and German music. Directed by Jeffrey Brillhart, the Chamber Singers rehearse as needed within the Sanctuary Choir rehearsal time, for several performances each season.

Singing for Life

singing-for-life

This experience, aimed at 55+, brings men and women from the church and community together for weekly rehearsals and occasional concerts. A typical rehearsal begins with stretching, intensive breathing exercises, and vocalizing. The rehearsal continues with learning a broad array of sacred and secular repertoire. Jeffrey Brillhart, Director of Music and Fine Arts, leads this group in rehearsal on Thursday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and is split into two semesters (October-December and February-April). You do not have to be a member of BMPC to participate. Please click here to read a welcome letter from our director, Jeffrey Brillhart, and to see our Fall 2024 rehearsal schedule. Summer Choir

summer

Each summer from mid-June through the beginning of September, all singers ages 12+ are invited to come to church any Sunday at 9:00 a.m. for a short rehearsal in the choir loft, then stay and sing for the 10:00 a.m. service. Summer choir is simple (one anthem, hymns, and a closing response) and informal (no robes). There is no long-term commitment; there is no need to sign up in advance.
