Sunday Morning Youth Gathering Grades 6 - 12 are invited to attend our Sunday Morning Youth Gathering from 10:00 – 11:15 a.m., starting in the gym. The youth and adult leaders of our church begin our time together with an interactive icebreaker and open our hearts to God with the same call to worship being used in the other services at BMPC. The youth band leads hymns and worship songs and we hear a sermon that relates the promise of the gospel to everyday teenage life. A pastoral prayer and the Lord’s prayer are offered before we receive a charge and benediction. At 10:30 a.m., youth break into Connection Groups, which meet throughout the Ministries Center. The goal of this time is to reflect on the message of the day by engaging in honest conversations about life and faith with peers and adult leaders.”

Confirmation is an exciting time in the life of our congregation’s 8th graders. Confirmands join other young people for Youth Gathering on Sunday morning. Then they meet in the Gloucester Room from 10:30-11:15 a.m. for an in-depth exploration of what it means to live into the baptismal covenant. Each Confirmand is paired with a Confirmation Mentor who walks with them throughout the yearlong confirmation journey; providing spiritual, emotional and practical support along the way.
This year, for the first time, Confirmands will join the Confirmation team for a day-long retreat on February 10, 11:15 a.m.-6:00 p.m. We will use our historic worship spaces as tools to help reflect on Christian life and practice. Our time together will conclude with a trip to Broad Street Ministry where we will take part in their 4:00 p.m. worship service.

Worship Together Sunday
We encourage families with children in grades 4 - 12 to worship together on the first Sunday of the month. Worship together Sundays provide children and youth in grades 4-12 an exciting opportunity to connect with the broader congregation on the first Sunday of every month. Youth take active roles in the service as liturgists and greeters. They may sit with their families, or with other youth and adult leaders in the left transept balcony. After the 10:00 a.m. service, all youth are invited to participate in a brief service project between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Fifth Sunday Chapel Service
Every fifth Sunday, children and youth of all ages meet in the chapel for an interactive worship service designed to build connections across age boundaries, and generate new expressions of Christian worship and practice. Our next fifth Sunday service will happen on March 31.
